My Temple Experience
I went to the Temple with Kaye today and did Initiatory. I had 5 names and it all went along just fine until I got to number four. I got the most wonderful feeling and started getting emotional kind of like when someone hugs you and thanks you from the bottom of their hearts for a gift you gave. That's how I felt and the Temple worker gave me a hug and said isn't it wonderful when that happens. My goodness, I have never had that happen before but I was so grateful for that heavenly experience. I can't wait to meet her someday because I just know that I will.

Mont Garrett's Fundraiser
What a great event this was. I could NOT believe all the people that came. We were serving people pizza, donated by Little Czaers at our table with bread sticks donated by Olive Garden, jello cups, and Chip ahoy cookies. The next table had pulled pork sandwiches with baked beans, salad and cookies and the next had Steak ka-bobs, baked potatoes and salad. Everything was donated from Texas Roadhouse, Sizzler, Olive Garden and I mean everything. They had 3 or 4 Blendtec's in the silent auction and also in the raffle ticket table. I wrote my name down and also put in a bunch of raffle tickets but didn't win. Gaylene Kenny spent $2 on a raffle ticket and won it. Bah! My luck for sure. On the silent auction someone put down $1000 so I didn't try for that one any more. Anyway, I did win a Scentsy. Dave wanted one for his room so, YAY for that. We went outside for a balloon launch. Everyone paid $2 for a balloon and then we all stood outside of the church and had a moment of silence as Mont Garrett and his family stood in the circle of all the people holding balloons and then they were let go at the same time. It really was an awesome feeling being in the crowd at that moment. Mont and his family thanked everyone for coming. They had an auction with a great auctioneer. He was so much fun. What a great event for a great person. I so hope everything works out for him.

Happy Birthday my Jeremy
Today is my Jeremy's Birthday. He would be 38 today. I miss him more than I can say. I laid in bed this morning and thought of how on May 13th 1974, Brad and I were on our way to work together at 8:00 in the morning when we decided to stop at the hospital and see if anything was going on because I'd been having contractions since 3:30 a.m. Since it was my first baby and I was dilated to a ONE, they kept me. Finally our Jeremy was born at 7:00 p.m. just in time for Family Home Evening. What a sweetheart. I could not quit holding him, kissing him and smelling his beautiful baby smell. Time gets away from us so fast. Now he's been gone as long as he was a live, 19 years. I'm so thankful that I know without a doubt that he's not gone from me forever. He is a sweet loving wonderful person. A while before he died, he came into my room and got on my bed and with tears in his eyes thanked me for all I've done for him. He told me that I had sacrificed so much and given so much and he appreciated and loved me for it. I felt so inadequate for all these compliments but I also felt like the best and happiest mom that ever lived. My Jeremy saw something in me that maybe only he saw because he saw past all the bad choices and past the human me. He saw me the way I see my Mamma and for that I'm forever in awe and very grateful. I still think of that day and how sweet his face was as he told me how much he loved me. Thank you for that memory my sweet Jeremy. How I miss you!!! Happy Birthday my sweet one...On that day you gave me more than I'd ever given you.

Priesthood Session night with kids, 3 moms and an Omi....well and an Opa in the other room. We made mini pizzas that the kids put together themselves. They watched "Hop"and "Chip-wrecked" and played a lot together being happy kids. Boston loved pushing the button on the music clock. He smiles and sings after he pushes the button. We also had Friday night dinner with a birthday cake for Ryan G and Fisher. Ryan G and his family came plus Tricia and Jeff, Robyn and Steve and kids and that was it. We had spaghetti, corn, strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe and lots of cake and ice cream. For some reason my muscles are hurting in my "hinton" but it's a good hurt.
These pictures are all during the Priesthood Session. Makes you wonder what Reagan's thinking, huh? Such cuties!
Makes you wonder what Oakley's thinking, huh? Still such cuties!
After Danielle saw a picture of the owl I made for babies, she asked if I could make one for a 16 year old girl so here it is. I hope the mom that works with Danielle who is planning on buying it, likes it. It's been a fun and busy week. I am soooo thankful for Conference. I loved todays session so much. Really a Spiritual Saturday Session.

Hayden
Jennie (Baker) Walker lives across the street. I gave her a hat and she promised me to dress her little girl up and have her wear the hat so I can take a picture of her. Her little boy (Vinnie) and some new cute little girls that moved into our circle along with their brother and mom and dad, came over yesterday. They knocked on the door and asked for candy since I gave them some the other day. So cute!!! I also gave them one of those little plastic snakes that move so funny. They loved them. Jennie Walker came over to check on her son and I had her come in so I could try some other hats on her Hayden and here they are. She's 10 months old and so ready with a smile. She's just adorable. You can't help loving her right off. The button on the first hat is so cute. It has polka dots on it the color of the hat plus a few others.

Brown Owl Hat
Here's another hat that I'm making for Jenni and Erin. As I said in the previous blog, Jenni gave me a link for the hat instructions and it's really fun. The pattern asks for brown yarn for the hat, more of a lime green I think for the eyes with white, plus an orange nose so I bought those colors today. Cute, huh>?

Pink Owl Hat
Jenni sent me a link to instructions to make an owl beanie. I had a lot of pink so I decided to practice first. Turned out pretty cute. I sent a text message/picture to Erin and she loved it so I'm giving it to her to give a new baby girl. I'm starting to make two more in brown for Jenni and Erin. I love to crochet. I'm so happy I found something that I really love to do at this time of my life. It's really fun being home with my Dave but still doing things that others like. Really makes me happy!!!

Juicing
I go to the Hansen's house mostly once a week sometimes 2 but not often. Here are a couple of pictures. I love going there. Suzanne is in a wheelchair but she is always cheerful and a just all around cutie. I love her and her husband so much. I think going there is more for me than for them. I feel blessed every time I go there and feel uplifted when I leave. Such wonderful people.

On Wings of Faith (finished)
Well, I finished the book. I'm so thankful I was able to borrow it. It really opened my eyes even more to what my family went through. Another person that was mentioned was Brother Walter Stover. He gave Mamma and Pappa both jobs at his factory. We lived right next to the factory and they both just could walk to their jobs in the mornings. Brother Stover did so many wonderful things for the Germans, being a German himself. He was a sponsor for many so they could come to America. What a great man. Pappa didn't care for him much BUT that's probably because he really liked Mamma and he was pretty rich. Mamma told me once that when she quit and got a job at Guild, Inc. Brother Stover and Mamma both cried. So sweet. Anyway, I need to look this book up on Amazon.com and see if I can purchase it. It's a keeper.

On Wings of Faith
A sister in our ward gave the TOT lesson on Sunday. The lesson brought tears to my eyes because it was on helping others and service in Germany. Sister Frandsen read out of "On Wings of Faith" written by Frederick Babbel (to lazy to go look if that's right). He told of his experiences with Ezra Taft Benson in the European countries right after the war and the horror they saw especially in Berlin. I didn't even know she knew I was from there but then I figured Hildi gets up and talks about it in her testimony so I'm sure that helped her figure it out. She read a story about a man by the name of Otto Berndt who I knew growing up. He and his wife were in our ward when we lived on Logan Avenue. What a thrill to read his name and the things he did. Sister Frandsen asked me if I wanted to borrow the book and I, of course, was delighted when she asked me because the book is old and I'm sure not on the shelves to purchase anymore. As I read it, I feel the spirit so strong and just cry. It makes me sad what these faithful people went through, my parents and sisters included. Their bodies so frail and starving and still they did all they could to walk to where an Apostle of the Lord was speaking. My testimony gets strengthened each time I read of these experiences. The Germans were just so hated but it wasn't their fault. It's the people at the top that make the laws, rules and war. The little people just want to live their lives and make their families happy. I'm very grateful for loving parents. What a legacy they left for me and for you. I hope and pray that I can stand as a witness as both of my parents have done no matter what the circumstance. They truly are Latter Day Saints!

Hat
Here's a bear ear hat like the post before but it's for a toddler and it has flaps with pom pom's. I learned this on Pinterest too. The flowers I put on the post before this one were soooo much fun to make. Pinterest is great. I'm thinking if Boston likes this hat, it will be for him.
So, Juli said she loved the hat for Boston but thought it would be cute with a face. Soooooo, here's an idea. Should I attach it forever or not?

I have really had fun on Pinterest. I found the instructions for a cute little newborn bear hat. So much fun to make and the finished product, I think, is adorable.
THEN, I found a new way to make flowers. This flower is just so pretty and it was so fast to make and fun. The next picture will show you what it looks like before you put it together.
Now is that neat??? I love it. You make this long curly crocheted strip and then sew it into a circle. I love making these.
I also found paper and cloth flowers I would like to make. Also cute cute wreaths. Can't wait.

Dinner
Dave and I went to Applebee's the other night because we hadn't had a date forever. They took FOREVER to get Dave a salad. We were disappointed about that and then to top it off, the dinner was not that great AND it cost $40. We were sad but what do you do? Applebee's has never been a favorite of mine anyway now maybe we'll not go at all. OK with me. At least we were together and to prove it I have pictures. What a sweetie.
I saw a cute diaper cover on Pinterest but without directions of course so I decided to make it up. I gave it to Jenni to use when she takes pictures of new babies. I also made a beanie to go a long with it which I forgot to take a picture of. I hope they both fit. I'll have to find a doll or new baby to try them on. Let me know if they fit, OK?
Here's little Jordan in his Scout uniform. Don't you love a man in uniform...of course! Sorry it's so dark. Cute Jordan.
